W&W Scout Water Activities Day 2023
Saturday 16 September 2023 – 9am – 5:30pm
Each Group will have a gazebo “base” where bags can be stored and where you can meet when you are not on the water
We are still finalising the activities but confirmed activities are Kayaking, Canoeing, Rafting, Stand Up Paddleboards and Powerboats. We will also have a few land activities including slacklining.
Groups:
Please bring along a Gazebo or shelter to use as a base. maybe a table too. Please consider leaving it there for the cubs on the Sunday.
Scouts:
You will need clothes suitable for going on the river:
If you have a wetsuit, then that along with some old trainers or wet shoes is fine. If not, then T-shirt and shorts over a swimming costume. Also trainers or wet shoes.
Please note that crocs, flipflops and sliders are useless in the water as they float off.
You will also need a towel and a full set of dry clothes to change into at the end.
please also bring sun cream and a sun hat as well as a water bottle.
Please make sure all items are clearly marked.
We will provide Buoyancy aids, drinks, snacks and a hot lunch.
If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know.
The cost for the day is £25 per Scout, Although your group may add a % to cover OSM Costs
We are limited to a maximum of 20 Scouts per group

The access road to Paxmead is very narrow and so for larger events we usually implement a one way system where you enter via Dockett Eddy lane, and exit alongside the Thames, past Shepperton Lock and so back to Shepperton.
If possible lift sharing would be best.
A drop and go policy will also help us manage traffic on the day.
